Alfie’s Story

Alfie Oakes is an American farmer, businessman and patriot.

Born in Delaware City, Delaware and raised in Fort Myers, Florida, he is the founder of Oakes Farms, one of the largest independently owned agribusiness operations in South Florida. Headquartered in Collier County, Florida, Oakes Farms maintains a diversified portfolio of services that reach a global market, including:

  • Farming
  • Packing
  • Shipping
  • Processing
  • Retail markets
  • Food service
  • Seafood distribution.

A born entrepreneur, Alfie grew the family business from the ground up. Inspired by his father and grandfather before him, Alfie learned the value of fierce determination, unwavering perseverance and strong relationships while working at his family’s small produce stand as a boy. The seeds of hard work and calculated risk taking were planted early, allowing Oakes to flourish despite the many hardships and challenges he faced growing up. Coming from humble beginnings, Oakes turned his obstacles into opportunities. At age 15, Oakes began selling tomatoes and watermelons from the back of a pickup truck at the Cape Coral bridge. He opened his first market at age 18 and became a first-generation farmer when he leased 40 acres to grow zucchini. By the time he graduated high school, Oakes was brokering wholesale deals and harvesting his own crops.

Then in 2005…

Alfie forged a robust business relationship with premier grocery store chains when he was able to procure better quality raw product and streamlined service. This increase in volume helped Alfie grow his wholesale business and expand into Florida’s largest vegetable producer, packer and shipper.

Over the next 17 years, he never lost focus of the fundamental promise his business was founded on—to support friends and neighbors in their pursuit of healthy living.

Alfie’s success has been driven by valuing relationships with employees, vendors and customers over money, allowing him to provide endless opportunities for others, with the hope they will pay it forward. As a true visionary and prominent role model in business, Alfie now employees over 3500 people. He has a direct connection with nearly every employee and leads through kindness, compassion and inspiration. Alfie frequently hosts school age children at his 10-acre demonstration farm, complete with aquaculture, chickens, dairy cows, greenhouses and over 30 fruits and vegetables for them to plant and pick while learning about farming, harvesting and the fundamentals of becoming self-sufficient when it comes to growing our own food. Teaching children about healthy food is his priority and reward.

A Triad of Success!

The flagship of Alfie’s retail operation is Seed to Table, a 78,000 square foot destination market in North Naples. Other stores include Oakes Farms and Food and Thought. Oakes is dedicated to his sensible approach to health, especially the lessons his father passed on to him at an early age about the benefits of consuming clean and organic food, which later developed his principled ideas about growing, eating and doing the right thing.

A proud

True American Patriot

It takes extreme bravery to stand by your convictions and remain unwavering when fighting for what you believe in and never surrendering to tyrannical tactics. In 2020, Oakes became the patriotic voice of many by REFUSING:

Additionally, Alfie hosts Patriot Talk Show, a popular weekly podcast, broadcast live from Seed to Table every Tuesday night. His interest in politics is fostered by his desire to preserve and protect all he holds sacred. He currently serves Collier County as a State Committeeman for the Republican Party of Florida.

As a believer in the Constitution, Alfie is committed to endlessly fight and defend our rights to liberty and freedom of thought, expression and exchange to help preserve America for the future. For Oakes, freedom and liberty will never be sacrificed.

When he isn’t working, Alfie spends time with his wife Deanne and their 3 children, pursuing his passion for adventure and supports many various charities and liberty focused nonprofits.

The Oak Tree

Since the earliest ties between humans and oaks, a very strong symbolic image of oaks has developed in which these trees have become associated with longevity, strength, stability, endurance, fertility, power, justice, and honesty.

The Oak tree is one of the most loved trees in the world, and with good reason. It’s a symbol of strength, morale, resistance and knowledge.  Throughout history, the Oak has been represented in different mythologies and sometimes linked to powerful gods. The oak is considered a cosmic storehouse of wisdom embodied in its towering strength. It grows slowly, but surely at its own rate. Oak is often associated with honor, nobility, and wisdom as well thanks to its size and longetivity.  Oaks are known to easily surpass 300 years of age making it a powerful life-affirming symbol. “The oak is a living legend representing all that is true, wholesome, stable, and noble.”
