  \n Alfie Oakes is an American farmer, businessman and patriot. <\/h3>\n

  Born in Delaware City, Delaware and raised in Fort Myers, Florida, he is the founder of Oakes Farms, one of the largest independently owned agribusiness operations in South Florida. Headquartered in Collier County, Florida, Oakes Farms maintains a diversified portfolio of services that reach a global market, including:<\/p>\n

    A born entrepreneur, Alfie grew the family business from the ground up. Inspired by his father and grandfather before him, Alfie learned the value of fierce determination, unwavering perseverance and strong relationships while working at his family\u2019s small produce stand as a boy. The seeds of hard work and calculated risk taking were planted early, allowing Oakes to flourish despite the many hardships and challenges he faced growing up. Coming from humble beginnings, Oakes turned his obstacles into opportunities. At age 15, Oakes began selling tomatoes and watermelons from the back of a pickup truck at the Cape Coral bridge. He opened his first market at age 18 and became a first-generation farmer when he leased 40 acres to grow zucchini. By the time he graduated high school, Oakes was brokering wholesale deals and harvesting his own crops.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

    Then in 2005…<\/h2>\n \n

    Alfie forged a robust business relationship with premier grocery store chains when he was able to procure better quality raw product and streamlined service. This increase in volume helped Alfie grow his wholesale business and expand into Florida\u2019s largest vegetable producer, packer and shipper.<\/h2>\n \n

    Over the next 17 years, he never lost focus of the fundamental promise his business was founded on\u2014to support friends and neighbors in their pursuit of healthy living.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \u0003Alfie\u2019s success has been driven by valuing relationships with employees, vendors and customers over money, allowing him to provide endless opportunities for others, with the hope they will pay it forward. As a true visionary and prominent role model in business, Alfie now employees over 3500 people. He has a direct connection with nearly every employee and leads through kindness, compassion and inspiration. Alfie frequently hosts school age children at his 10-acre demonstration farm, complete with aquaculture, chickens,dairy cows, greenhouses and over 30 fruits and vegetables for them to plant and pick while learning about farming, harvesting and the fundamentals of becoming self-sufficient when it comes to growing our own food. Teaching children about healthy food is his priority and reward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
